About a month ago a friend sent me an email asking if I can photograph her daughter’s Shichigosan. I had no idea what it was, yet alone how to pronounce it, so of course my first step was to send that word into the ever so popular wikipedia. After my “extensive” research, I learned that Lea would be getting her first kimono since she was turning three. Traditionally, Shichigosan is an event held in November, but I am glad they chose to photograph this sooner, since I loved seeing Lea in her kimono. I have been lucky enough to know Lea since she was born, so I’m getting to see her grow. She is very adorable and impresses me very much. She’s learning to speak Japanese and English at the same time; plus, when I babysat her once, she started counting in Spanish! A three year old is passing me in linguistics. I don’t know if I will ever catch up to her. Well, congratulations on your Shichigosan Lea!
